The 6th Spring Seminars organized by the Social Policies Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD LGBTİ) will be held on October 22-23. This year’s theme will be “Being LGBTI+ in Turkey: Visibility, Resistance and Solidarity”.
In the spring seminars, which aim at bringing together researchers working on LGBTI and queer issues, topics such as the dynamics of the LGBTI+ movement from the 80s until today, what being an LGBTI meant in this geography, the local and social evolution and transformation of the city as well as the effects of this shift will be discussed.
Deadline for applications is September 23
Academics, students and/or researchers are invited to send their CV and a 300-word summary of a prospective presentation to the e-mail address “[email protected]” by September 23.
The sessions will be held in Turkish. Each session is planned to last 30 minutes and a Q&A will take place at the end of each session.
The applicants will be informed about the results of their applications on September 28. (ÇT/DG)
