President of Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government Masoud Barzani has told that the Nation of Kurds which has a population of 40-50 billion needed to have a state.
According to the report of Bas News, Barzani on his interview he gave to Neue Zuricher Zeitung, has told “Without doubt we want our nation of 40-50 billion to own a state. Yet we also have to consider our reality. We are divided to four pieces. And each one of these have different situations. That’s why each part should seek a solution with the central government”.
Natural borders
Noting that every nation had its natural borders, Barzani has expressed that the current borders have disappeared in practice.
“Borders drawn by force can no longer be accepted”.
Barzani has added that the international society had to seek a real solution for the war and otherwise the clashes would continue and the global peace would be in threat.
Referendum
When asked whether the referendum would be held this year, Barzani answered “Hopefully” (If god permits).
“No solution can be forced, every solution should be achieved through referendum”.
“How will Mosul be governed?”
Barzani has told that the operation of Mosul was a “priority” for them and the main problem was to decide how Mosul would be governed after its “salvation”.
“We are ready for the war on Mosul but the Iraqi Government and US should develop a plan as to rescuing the city and the coming period”. (YY/DG)
