Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Group Deputy Chairperson, İdris Baluken spoke about HDP deputy from Ağrı, Leyla Zana’s oath not being accepted in oath-taking ceremony in parliament.

Baluken stating this matter shouldn’t be made a big deal about said, “The HDP deputies reading this text don’t do it because they are comfortable with the content but we agreed to “reveal our discomfort with the text outside’. Our deputies already held a stance by the way they read the text. We’ve maintained a stand in order to not generate an agenda which may avert current hot agenda”.
No change in the stance
According to Rıfat Başaran of Hürriyet daily, “I remained in prison for 10 years because of this. I struggled for it. I couldn’t have remained insensitive as this many youngster and children die on the streets. I showed my response in this way”, said Zana allegedly to her close circle.
It has come to light that a discussion with respect to the oath text was made in two-day-long group meeting of HDP before parliamentary oath-taking ceremony. It is stated that Zana participated on the first day of the meeting. (EKN/TK)
