August 30 Victory Day celebrations have begun.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) President İsmail Kahraman, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Constitutional Court Chair Zühtü Arslan, Chief of General Staff Full General Hulusi Akar, Republican People’s Party (CHP) Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Leader Devlet Bahçeli, Vice Prime Ministers Numan Kurtulmuş, Nurettin Canikli, Mehmet Şimşek, Tuğrul Türkeş, Veysi Kaynak, presidents of higher jurisdiction institutions, Council of Minister members and commanders-in-chief of armed forces have attended the ceremony held at the Anıtkabir, the memorial of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ankara.

A ceremony was held at the Taksim square in İstanbul.
Minute of silence was kept and the national anthem was sung after the Governorate, 1st Army Commandership as the İstanbul Garrison and Metropolitan Municipality left a wreath on the Republic Monument in the ceremony.
It is the first time that a policewoman wearing headscarf appeared in the ceremony upon the latest amendments in the Dress Code For Security Employees.
Security measures at the Anıtkabir
Security precautions have been taken at the Anıtkabir in the 94th anniversary celebrations of the Victory Day.
All the roads leading to the Anıtkabır have been pedestrianized. Barricades have been placed at the Anıtkabir’s yard. The soldiers participating in the ceremonies have been let in after ID check and being passed through X-Ray devices. (ÇT/TK)
