President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement on the attack on main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu about 24 hours after the incident.
Posting a tweet, Erdoğan did not address the opposition leader and did not say anything along the lines of "Get well soon."
"Yesterday, we laid four martyrs of ours to rest. May the Allah have mercy on their souls. This country is a sacred heritage that they passed over to us.
Unfortunately, an unwanted incident occurred yesterday at the funeral of a martyr of our in Çubuk [Ankara]. The protests against CHP Chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu transformed into violent acts.
The incident is being investigated in all aspects. We can never approve violence. We are against every kind of violence and terror. We don't allow anyone to harm the climate of serenity in Turkey."

The village where Kılıçdaroğlu was attackedThe Akkuzulu village, a part of the Çubuk district in the capital Ankara, hosts mostly Turkomans and Yoruks (Anatolian nomads) who make their livings by agriculture and animal breeding. Having a distance of 49 kilometers to the Ankara city center, the village has a population of 2,839.
