Two people were killed and several others were wounded in an armed attack near the Ahmet Kaya Cultural Center in the 10th arrondissement, Paris.
Shopkeepers quoted by AFP said an elderly man fired seven or eight shots at shops in the area.
Fırat News Agency (ANF) reported that a restaurant owned by a Kurd was targeted in the attack.
The interior minister of France, Gérald Darmainn, said the assailant was nabbed after the attack that he described as "dramatic."
Loca media reported that the 69-year-old assailant is a citizen of France and works as a driver at SCNF, France's state-owned railway company.
