Reviewing the arrests of Akın Atalay, Bülent Utku, Murat Sabuncu, Kadri Gürsel, Güray Öz, Hakan Kara, Turhan Günay, Musa Kart, Önder Çelik and Mustafa Kemal Güngör, İstanbul 12th Criminal Judgeship of Peace has decided that the journalists should further be under arrest.
No evidence gathered since 66 days
The court in its decision has referred to the current situation regarding evidences and argued that not enough evidence was gathered yet and that there were solid evidence indicating a criminal suspicion.
Recalling that they have considered the gravity and significanceof the crime, the judgeship has noted that judicial control measures would not be sufficient, taking security measures and the arrest as a measure were proportional and that no evidence to lead to the release of the suspects was found during 66 days.
