The Şırnak Bar Association paid a visit to the family of 7-year-old Mihraç Miroğlu, who was hit by an armored vehicle and lost his life in İdil in Turkey's Kurdish-majority southeastern province of Şırnak.
Extending his condolences to the family, Şırnak Bar Association Chair Rojhat Dilsiz said that they talked to the prosecutor about the incident and announced that the investigation was still continuing.
'36 people died in 10 years'
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency (MA), Şırnak Bar Chair Dilsiz made a speech and briefly said, "Armored vehicles must be withdrawn from neighborhoods and streets. These vehicles must leave our children's living areas so that our hearts will not hurt any longer. We will do our best in the investigation process. We are ready to defend as the Şırnak Bar."

Dilsiz also said, "Legally, we will make efforts so that the truth will come to light. 36 people were killed in this way in the last 10 years. We know that several people were harmed by armored vehicles in the last 3 years. If we do not stand in their way, we cannot prevent these incidents."
What happened?
An armored vehicle hit Mihraç Miroğlu (7) in Turgut Özal Neighborhood in Şırnak's İdil on September 3, 2021. According to the witness statements, the vehicle hit the child while he was riding a bicycle.
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency (MA), the investigation launched by the İdil Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the incident has been launched on the grounds of "deadly road accident." The police officer was reportedly not detained even though the child has lost his life.
The statement of the suspect police officer was taken three days after the incident today (September 6). Brought to the courthouse in company with police, the police officer has been released after giving his statement. The police officer reportedly said in his statement at the prosecutor's office, "I didn't do it intentionally. I didn't want it to end like this." (TP/SD)
