The armed attack, which was carried out against the office of attorney Heval Yıldız Karasu in the district of Odunpazarı in Eskişehir, has been protested.
In the attack that was carried out yesterday (September 25), the building, where the office of Karasu is located, was shot with pump action rifles and it was written on the wall of the building, "We don't want a HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) member in Odunpazarı!"
In the wake of this attack, lawyers and representatives of non-governmental organizations gathered in front of the building and stated that the attack directed to Karasu was a message of intimidation towards the opposition.
Chairperson of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Metin Feyzioğlu has also indicated that the attack has been launched against the state of law and denounced the attack.
"We will continue our struggle against racism"

As reported by Evrensel newspaper, speaking on behalf of the ones who gathered at the scene of incident, Branch Secretary of Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim-Sen) Kemal Koçak said,
"As Yıldız Karasu has also stated, the primary reason of the attack is her name. Doing racism over the name of an attorney is a pathetic behavior.
"Our answer to the ones who committed and instigated this crime for their own political gains is as follows: You cannot frighten or intimidate us; regardless of our political views, races, beliefs and professions, we are all Heval and we will continue our struggle against this racist mindset."

Chairperson of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations Metin Feyzioğlu has denounced the attack as "an attack against the state of law."
Spokesperson for the Law and Human Rights Commission of the HDP Ayşe Acar Başaran has also said, "This attack is not independent of the attitudes of politicians who use a discriminatory and marginalizing language of hate. Such attacks cater to the polarization of the society." (EKN/SD)
