An armed attack has been launched on Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (HDP) Headquarters in Ankara.
Coming to the headquarters at around 10:30 p.m. yesterday (December 15), a person named A.T.G. took four shots at the building with a shotgun.
The attacker was taken to Security Directorate to be questioned after detained by police teams at the scene.
“The perpetrator is the government”
As to the attack, HDP in its written statement said:
“Our building has been slightly damaged in the attack in which no one was injured.
“The perpetrators of the attacks launched on our provincial-district buildings and lastly Headquarters are the government authorities who scream for ‘vengeance’, instructing law enforcers to be ‘merciless’, declare ‘national mobilization’ based on no law and target our party every day.
“With this attitude, the government aims to cover its mistakes and flops in domestic and foreign policies. ‘Presidential system or chaos’ approach drags the society and country to a disaster step by step.
“We strongly insist on democratic politics despite the efforts to purge HDP from democratic politics. We are determined to solve our problems through democratic politics, dialogue and negotiation”. (EKN/TK)
