An armed attack took place at TGRT News’ pro-government anchorman Cem Küçük’s brother’s home.
The attack on Osman Küçük’s home reportedly began when an unidentified suspect or suspects fired shotguns. Küçük’s wife and two children, who were at home at the time of the attack, were not injured.
A large number of police units were dispatched to the scene. As anti-terror teams processed the crime scene, an investigation into the identities of the attackers has also commenced.
Cem Küçük: They can’t intimidate me
According to a report by Medyaradar, Cem Küçük saw the incident as a planned assault. In a statement, he said:
“The incident occurred at 7:05 p.m. I was doing a live broadcast. They fired four shots. It doesn’t look coincidental. The İstanbul Security Director and his assistants called me; they are investigating the incident.
“If it was an act of terrorism carried out by groups like the DHKP-C, PKK, FETÖ, I don’t give a damn. If it was an attack against me personally, such a thing can’t intimidate me. If it was an act of intimidation [against] me, it won’t work.
“My brother’s two children, aged 7 years old and 10 months old, and his wife were at home at the time of the attack”. (EKN/TK)
