An attack has been carried out by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) against Turkey’s troop are deployed in Al-Bab as within the scope of Operation Euphrates Shield.
Sergeant Major Ayhan Elmacı lost his life, two other soldiers were wounded in the attack.
While the wounded soldiers were taken to Antep and Kilis provinces by helicopters, body of Elmacı was brought to Antep Forensic Medicine Institution morgue by helicopter.
56 soldiers from Turkey have lost their lives in Operation Euphrates Shield so far
Operation Euphrates Shield launched jointly by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) started on August 24, 2016. The campaign launched into Al-Bab began on December 9, 2016. (EKN/TK)
