Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Vice Chairs Ali İhsan Yavuz and Hamza Dağ held a press conference at the party headquarters in the capital city of Ankara today (November 22) and addressed the opposition's pressing demands for a snap election amid economic problems.
Yavuz said that they, as the AKP, "do not see a reason for debating the Presidential Government System when the practices that were in place in the former Parliamentary system are taken into consideration."

Referring to the debates on snap elections in Turkey, Yavuz said, "The possibility of a snap election is not the case in Turkey. Is it possible now? Theoretically, it is always possible but there is no reason for it."
'Election to be held on June 18, 2023'
Yavuz also talked about the works of the AKP and its ally Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) on possible amendments to the election law. Yavuz announced that their works have been in a state to be presented to the Parliament, adding that they want to submit it to the Parliament and ensure that it passes into law a year before the election, as it is stipulated in the law:
"No matter how you look at it, a snap election is already impossible. The election will be held as scheduled. The time of the election is June 18, 2023."
