Amed Sportif Faaliyetler (Sportive Activities) decided not take field against Sivas Belediyespor in Football Federation of Turkey 2nd League Red Group yesterday (January 28).
Security Council in Sivas didn’t declare ahead of the game that the fans would not be allowed inside.
Amed Executive Board informed the press and public via a written statement that the team won’t take field that would be played at 1 p.m.
Fans have not been allowed since 2015
During the game between Başakşehir and Amedspor, Amedspor fans opened a banner reading “May children don’t die, may they come to the games” on December 23, 2015. Since that time, fans entering the games is prevented by decisions of district and provincial sports security council.
“We’ve made every effort”
In its statement, Amedspor expressed that they met the Minister of Interior and President of Football Federation; took legal action; hanged images of fans on empty tribunes; took field with a banner reading “Football is Beautiful with Fans”. Stating that they "couldn’t obtain any result from such actions despite all the efforts", and the club decided "not to take field in the game against Sivas Belediyespor". (HK/TK)
