Yu Hongyan, People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Turkey, visited Shouping Sun, a Chinese worker who was wounded in a mine incident in the northern province of Bartın. Local Pusula newspaper featured the story of the only woman mine worker.
According to Bartın Olay newspaper, the ambassador visited the governor Seyfettin Azizoğlu in his office and asked for information on the mining incident.
On November 1, two Chinese workers, Maoshun Yang (38) and Shouje Sun (37), were killed in a mine subsidence case located in Bartın.
While Sun’s body has been recovered the morgue of Bartın Public Hospital, wounded worker Shouping Sun’s situation still remains critical. It turned out that Shouje Sun and Shouping Sun were siblings.
A Chinese woman worker in mine
Pusula newspaper, on the other hand, features the story of Chinese workers - a group also covered by Al Jazeera Magazine. The story also covered Hei Long Jiang (52), a woman mine worker from QiTai He, China.
While her husband is also a mine worker, she said she found the job after the company opened up a position for cleaning.
