All 1,577 Deans Resigned Upon YÖK’s Demand

Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has declared that all of the 1,577 deans, 1,176 of whom were from state universities and 401 others from foundation universities, whom the council had invited to resign, have submitted their resignations.

YÖK in its statement has declared;

“The requests of university presidencies regarding resignation of 1,176 deans from state universities and 401 others from foundation universities making 1,577 faculty deans in total submitted to our Presidency which has examined the requests and reached an approving decision.

“Action will be taken as soon as possible in order to assign new deans to our state and foundation universities”. (NV/DG)
