A commemoration was held on the anniversary of Ali ismail Korkmaz's death in Istanbul's Kadıköy district.
Vamos Bien, Sol Açık, FB, Spartakistler, Yoğurtçu Parkı Platform and Resist Kadıköy organized a commemoration in İstanbul for Ali Ismail Korkmaz (19), a protestor who was beaten to death by unidentified individuals during Gezi Resistance in Eskişehir.
The supporters of Fenerbahçe composed an anthem for Ali Ismail Kokmaz. They collected out of the Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium at 7:30pm and started a demonstration march to Boğa for meeting with other groups. The groups moved to the park named Ali Ismail Korkmaz in Yeldeğirmeni. A documentary was screened in the park.
Berkin Elvan's family joined demonstrations
In the demonstration, photographs of the killed young individuals during Gezi Resistance were held. Demonstrators chanted slogans "They are still alive".
During the protest, following slogans were chanted: "Ali Ismail Korkmaz is Immortal", "Ali's murder is AKP's police", "Thief and murderer AKP", "This is just the beginning, the struggle will resume"
A banner saying "Ali Ismail Korkmaz is Immortal" by Resist Kadikoy lead on the demonstration crowd. The banner was held by Berkin Elvan's mother Gülsüm Elvan and Mehmet Ayvalıtaş’s cousin - family members of killed individuals during Gezi Resistance.
Various soccer fans united
While supporters of Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş ve Göztepe joined the demonstartions by their uniforms and scarf, protesters often sang an anthem composed it for Ali ismail Kokmaz-.
FB Spartakistler held the banners of "Gezi Martyrs are deathless", "Life is not means scoring a goal against rival football team, life is scoring a goal against the racism".
Sol Açık held a banner where photographs of Berkin Elvan and Alexis Grigoropulos a young protestor who was kiled in Greece, were together. They both died at 15.
During the march towards Ali ismail Korkmaz Park in Yeldeğirmeni neigborhood, many neighborhood dwellers supported the protests from their apartment windows.
The commemoration continued in the park with the screening of a documentary about Ali Ismail Korkmaz.
