Alawite Bektashi Organization Federation Secretary General and Sultangazi Pir Sultan Abdal Djemevi President Zeynel Odabaş has been taken into custody from his home towards morning.
While it is unknown of what charge has been pressed against Odabaş, Sultangazi Pirsultan Djemevi Board has issued a statement.
“They told not to inquire after him for five days”
Filling in bianet on the developments, Sultangazi Pirsultan Djemevi Secretary Fatma Karabulut said security officers didn’t inform them of the ground of the detention.
Stating that police entered the house at around 4:30 a.m. and couldn’t find anything subsequent to their search, Karabulud conveyed the information that police told people around “Don’t inquire after him for five days”.
Noting that they don’t know where Odabaş was taken to, Karabulut said the authorities said he was taken to Esenler Security Directorate but they confirmed that he is not there and they predict he was taken to Vatan Police Station.
“Alawis have been tried to be taken hostage”
According to a report by Alevinet, Alawite Cultural Associations (AKD) issued a statement as to detaining of Odabaş.
“We will never bow to this unlawfulness. All Alawis have been tried to be taken hostage in the person of Odabaş.
“We stand with our president and Alawis’ fight for rights. We are Alawis, we are right, we will win”. (EKN/TK)
