An Afghan child (13) has been found dead in an irrigation pool near the village where he was working as a shepherd in Beypazarı, Ankara.
Sami Nadiri, the deceased child worker, reportedly came to Beypazarı some time ago and started working as a shepherd for a person named Ömer Gökdemir in the Oymaağaç Neighborhood in Beypazarı.
He was in the Guyununözü area while he was grazing the sheep. When the people in the vicinity reportedly saw the child drowning in the pool that belongs to Gökdemir, they called the gendarmerie.
Taken out of the irrigation pool, the deceased body of the child was first examined by the medical teams, then it was sent to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy.

7 child, 12 refugee workers died in August
According to the latest figures shared by the Health and Safety Labor Watch, at least 208 workers lost their lives in occupational homicides in August. While seven of the deceased workers were children, 12 were migrant/refugee workers. Of these workers, nine were from Syria, one from Afghanistan, one from Nepal and one from Uzbekistan. The occupational homicides of child workers took place in the agricultural and metal sectors.
In July 2020, 164 workers lost their lives in occupational homicides. While seven of these workers were children, six were refugees/immigrants. (AÖ/SD)
