Deputies of Justice and Development Party, Prof. Dr. Adem Basturk and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ilicali were among the participants of the meeting. Ilıcali said "This was not ann approval meeting but one for consultations held 1.5 months after the train was put into service."
"Besides" he said, "I am an environmentalist, I know nothing about railways!"
Prof. Adem Basturk said that during that meeting academicians warned the railways officials saying that "Be careful about the infrastructure and the training of people. Crew is very important here. Improve the lines and inspect them frequently. Follow up the measurement outcome." In return, rail ways officials said that they were very careful." (YE)
