Pro-government Sabah newspaper has claimed that main opposition party Republican People’s Party (CHP) presidential candidate Muharrem İnce played backgammon during July 15, 2016 coup attempt.
In the news report published on Sabah’s website with the dek “Sabah has unraveled the mystery”, a photo of CHP’s İnce at rummikub table was used and the news read:
“Republican People’s Party’s Presidential candidate Muharrem İnce’s whereabouts during July 15 bloody coup attempt launched by Fethullahist Terrorist Organization was being hidden like a secret. Sabah has unraveled where İnce was at that night. It was learned that he played backgammon with his brother Hüseyin İnce, the CHP Yalova Provincial General Assembly Member, at the summerhouse in Balıkesir”.
However, the photo was shared on Twitter in 2014.
