95 Academics Suspended at İstanbul University, YÖK Suspends 4 Rectors

According to state-run Anadolu Agency, İstanbul University Presidency has ordered suspension of 95 academic members at different departments following coup attempt.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University has declared that investigation has been launched into nine academic staff members and two administrative staff members because of their association with the FETÖ-PDY “terror organizations” which attempted coup.

Furthermore, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) rectors of Gazi University, Dicle University, Yalova University and Yıldız Technical University.

Following YÖK’s statement which demands resignation of every university dean yesterday (July 19), 195 deans have resigned from 15 universities in one day. (YY/BK/TK)
