In Şırnak where the curfew has entered its seventh day five civilians have been shot to death, three others have lost their lives due to an LPG explosion and one soldier killed during armed conflict. Two civilians in Silopi and in Cizre three others had also lost their lives on Saturday (December 19).
According to the statement of the Turkish General Staff, within an operation run in Cizre at 9.30 a.m. one soldier was injured during an armed conflict against Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), taken to hospital and lost his live.
Also in Şırnak, where the curfew had entered its sixth day, three civilians lost their lives supposedly at 11 a.m. due to an LPG explosion in Yeni Mahalle where ditches and barricades had been constructed.

According the report of DİHA, 70-year-old Selahattin Bozkurt had lost his life due to fire opened by special operation teams in Cizre in the same day.
Also 18-year-old İbrahim Bilgin who had been shot on his chest in front of his house in Yeşiltepe neighbourhood of Silopi district and taken to Silopi State Hospital had lost his life, according to DİHA.
Doğan News Agency (DHA) on the other hand has reported that two cargo trailers of Turkish Post (PTT) driving from Cizre to Şırnak had been attacked with long barreled weapons by PKK in Yafes neighbourhood and the 42-year-old driver Yılmaz Erz had been severely injured and lost his life.
In Silopi 16-year-old Axin Kanat and 17-year-old Reşit Eren had lost their lives due to a cannon ball hit their house.
In addition, Gendarmerie Specialized Sergeant Serkan Has who had lost his life due to the armed conflict on Friday (December 18) was laid to rest on Saturday in Osmaniye province.
On its statement Turkish General Staff announced that 11 PKK members have been killed in Cizre, another in Silopi and six others in Sur. (NV/DG)
