8 People Arrested in Dink Investigation

Eight more people including gendarmerie officials have been arrested in Dink investigation launched by Gökalp Kökçü, who is a prosecutor at Cumhuriyet Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office Anti-Terror and Organized Crime Bureau.

Journalist Muammer Ay, then Samsun Provincial Commandership KOM Branch Director Murat Bayrak, noncommissioned officer Yüksel Avan serving at Samsun Provincial Gendarmerie Commandership Public Security Branch Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, then Director of Samsun Provincial Gendarmerie Commandership Intelligence Agency Birol Ustaoğlu, then Samsun Security Directorship Security Branch Dreictor Yakup Kurtaran, then Samsun Security Directorship Anti-Terror Branch Chief on Duty Ahmet Çetiner, then Samsun Provincial Gendarmerie Commandership Security Director Atilla Güçoğlu and then Samsun Security Directorship Anti-Terror Bureau Directorship Security Chief Metin Balta were arrested by İstanbul Criminal Judgeship of Peace.

According to Agos weekly, prosecutor Kökçü gave details concerning the capturing of Ogün Samast, the killer of Dink, in Samsun. (EA/TK)
