Police raided Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) executives and members’ homes in the morning hours on Saturday (May 5) in İstanbul.
At least seven people including HDP Party Assembly member and former Bursa MP Asiye Kolçak wer detained during home raids.
The detainees were taken to İstanbul Security Directorate located on Vatan Street.
According to Mezopotamya Agency, the names of the detainees are: Asiye Kolçak, Merkez Yürütme Kurulu üyesi Fatma Kaya, Canşah Çelik, Zeynep Çalıhan, Ayten Ay, Zübeyde Akdağ and Diyar Ozgan.
HDP had announced that its presidential candidate was Selahattin Demirtaş on Friday. Passport of HDP co-Chair Sezai Temelli was confiscated on Saturday at the airport where he went to head for Germany as part of the election campaign.
Detained during police raid launched against HDP Güngören district building on April 28, 10 people including HDP İstanbul Provincial co-Chair Cengiz Çiçek were arrested on May 4. (BK/TK)
