General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) convened yesterday (May 29) at 11 a.m. for vote of confidence.
Voting in the General Assembly convening under the presidency of İsmail Kahraman started at 11:15 a.m. and finished at around 11:30 a.m.
The ballot as to the Council of Ministers formed by Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım was held by electronic device openly. The ones finding it difficult to use the electronic device handed voting papers to Presidency Council.
The 65th Government was approved in the voting with 315 aye votes against 138 votes out of the 453 votes in total.
Yıldırım: We are government of all
PM Binali Yıldırım in his speech expressed his greetings to the previous government. He noted that warnings and criticisms will be guiding.
“Indeed criticisms, warnings, suggestions are guiding for us. They will without doubt help us make better decisions, carry out better works. We have a feature as the AKP (Justice and Development Party); no matter how much we obtain vote in the ballots, we are government of all under this roof after the vote of confidence. We are government of the 79 million.
“We will carry our democracy to even more advanced stage. We will further develop human rights and liberties. We will work night and day for our nation’s unity and solidarity to become permanent”.
