Republican People's Party (CHP) İstanbul MP and Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission Deputy Chair Sezgin Tanrıkulu has shared the findings of his Report on Violations of Rights in February 2021.
Referring to bianet male violence monitoring report as well, the main opposition MP has indicated that the right to life of 176 people was violated in Turkey in a month. 434 people were subjected to torture and ill treatment in February. Other findings from the report are as follows:
Violations of right to life
- Deaths in prison: 5
- Femincides: 33
- Occupational homicides: 138
- Total: 176
Incidents of torture
- Torture: 372
- Torture and ill treatment in prisons: 62

Violations of freedom of expression
- Number of convicted journalists, writers, publishers: 7

- Detained journalists: 9
