19 soldiers have been killed
12 soldiers were killed in rocket and mortar attacks carried out by ISIS on the regions of Jarablus, Al Rai and Al Bab during Operation Euphrates Shield launched on August 24, 2016.
The TSK announced that one soldier lost his life resulting from an accident.
Three more soldiers were killed in an airstrike launched against TSK troops near Al Bab on November 24. The TSK announced that the attack was launched by Syria but Russia stated that the attack was launched by neither Russia nor Syria.
Another allegation is that the attack was carried out by Iranian drones. Chief of the National Intelligence Agency (MİT) Hakan Fidan went to Iran two days after the attack. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that this attack wasn’t discussed in his visit to Iran.
