Several students supporting hunger strikers gathered on Pamukkale University Campus Center on November 2, seeking to make a public statement against the government's stance on hunger strikes. Police responded ferociously, taking 91 students into custody and wounding dozens.
30 students, released briefly after the protests, were arrested again following a court trial where district attorney charges them of "terrorism propanga", "assault on police officers", "violation of protest law".
Due to similar reasons, 25 students were also arrested in Arhahan (12) and Ankara (13) Universities within the last five days. (BK/HK)
