The election stand of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) was intervened by the police in the district of Kadıköy in İstanbul today (March 22).
Scattering the election and Newroz leaflets on the stand, the police also took five members of the HDP into custody. It was stated that the detained people were taken to the Kadıköy Security Directorate. All of the detained have been released after giving deposing at the security directorate.
Danış Beştaş distributed Newroz leaflets on İstiklal
İstanbul Newroz Organization Coordination also distributed Newroz leaflets along the İstiklal Avenue in Taksim, İstanbul and made a call to the people to attend the Newroz celebrations in İstanbul to be held in Bakırköy Bazaar Area on Sunday (March 24).
HDP Siirt MP Meral Danış Beştaş distributed Newroz leaflets on the İstiklal as well. Distributing leaflets to the passers-by, the group said, "Newroz means peace, fraternity, equality, democracy. Happy Newroz. Newroz piroz be. We are expecting to see everyone at Bakırköy Bazaar Area on Sunday."
