Charged with "propagandizing for an illegal organization" on social media, five people have been arrested in İskenderun, Hatay.
İskenderun District Security Anti-Terror Bureau Directorate teams detained M.G., R.G., A.G., A.Y. and Ş.D for "propagandizing for the terrorist organization PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG".
Sent to court following the interrogations, five people were detained on charge of illegal organization propaganda by Anti-Terror Law Article 7 last night (February 12).
Detentions in Balıkesir and Bingöl
Nine people were detained in home raids by the same charges in Bingöl.
Eight people among whom are Edremit Education Union executive Kemal Yadırgı and Labor Party (EMEP) members were detained in raids in Central and Edremit districts in Balıkesir.
The Ministry of Interior had announced that 474 people, who shared posts about the Operation Olive Branch, and 192 people who participated in demonstrations, were detained.
Besides, at least 34 people were arrested since January 20 when the offensive began. This figure has become at least 39 with the latest arrests. (AS/TK)
