459 Social Media Accounts Examined in 1 Week

In its statement released on its official website, the Ministry of Interior has provided information about the operations carried out from July 9 to July 16 2018.

In the statement, the ministry stated that 459 social media accounts were examined and legal action was taken against 266 users in one week.

“Legal action has been taken against 266 people and 459 social media accounts, which propagandize for terrorist organization, promote these organizations, openly declare that they are affiliated with terrorist organizations, incite people to enmity and hostility, insult state authorities, attempt against state’s indivisible integrity and life safety of the society, include hate speech”.

On February 26, the ministry announced that 845 people who criticized Afrin operation on social media and participated in demonstrations were detained. (AS/TK)
