Four people were killed in Turkey’s southeastern Kızıltepe district of Mardin province.
Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reports that four people were killed yesterday in fire opened by special operation police offers on a vehicle in Turgut Özel neighborhood of Kızıltepe district.
One of the four has been identified as Democratic Regions Party (DBP) administrator, Cengiz Erdem, the elder brother of university student Aydın Erdem who was killed by police in Diyarbakır in 2009. The family has identified Erdem’s body in morgue of Mardin State Hospital.
The statement by Mardin Governorate is as follows:
“Two separatist terror organization members were captured dead in a vehicle disobeying ‘stop’ warning on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Kızıltepe district. Two women separatist terror organization members were captured in an operation launched against an address located 1023rd Street in Bilahare neighborhood. Three pistols and five hand-grenades have been found on bodies of the four separatist terror organization members captured dead. Furthermore, a person who aid and abet the separatist terror organization has been detained”. (NV/TK)
