Turkey's state television TRT refused to broadcast the 58th Eurovision Song Contest - an organization that attracted millions of spectators in Turkey every year.
Broadcasted live from Malmö, Sweden last night, the contest finals included a kissing scene between Emilia de Forest (performer of Denmark) and Krista Siegfrids (vocalist of Finland).
Emilia de Forest won this year's contest with her song “Only Teardrops”.
During a concert in Amsterdam, Siegfrids kissed a woman in front of thousands of spectators and pledged to kiss a woman at Eurovision Contest Final to protest the gay marriage ban in her country.
On May 14 TRT released a statement that refused to broadcast this year's Eurovision Contest Finals so that it would be "consistent" on its protest of the new winner selection system. It also claimed that TRT's previous criticism did not yield any changes on the new selection system. (EA/BM)
