According to the Ministry of Interior, 311 people have been detained so far due to their social media posts about “Operation Olive Branch” launched into Afrin.
311 people have been charged with “terrorism propaganda”, according to the statement.
The operation that started on January 20 is on its 10th day today (January 29).
Latest detention is from the HDP in Denizli
There are many Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) provincial and district executives among the detainees, recently HDP Denizli Provincial Chair Sıddık Eker was detained on Saturday (January 27) for “propagandizing for terrorism” on social media.
Units from the Denizli Provincial Security Directorate Anti-Terror Bureau searched Eker’s home and seized some documents. Eker is still in the Security Directorate. (AS/TK)
