PEN Germany Center, German Journalists Union, German Journalists Association, German Book Publishers Association and Culture Forum Germany-Turkey have released a joint declaration, calling for "peace in the Eastern Mediterranean" and expressing support for "101 Grey-Haired Elders" in their call for "a democracy alliance of all opposition forces in Turkey."

Among 30 signatories of the joint declaration are journalist Günter Wallraff, former Co-Chair of Germany's Greens Party Cem Özdemir, politician Lale Akgün, director Fatih Akın, writer Aslı Erdoğan, journalists Banu Güven, Ahmet İnsel, Can Dündar, Celal Başlangıç, Doğan Özgüden, İnci Özgüden Tuğsavul, PEN Germany Center Chair and writer Regula Venske.
The declaration has reiterated the 101 Grey-Haired Elders' joint call for a democratic opposition for human rights, peace and democracy.
