Three soldiers were killed, 20 others injured in the clash broke out between soldiers and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at around 6:45 a.m. on Saturday (September 3).
Doğan News Agency reported that the wounded soldiers were first taken to Fatih Barracks by helicopter, and then to Hakkari State Hospital by ambulances.
Three of the wounded are in critical condition.
Statement by the HPG
People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Contact Center (BİM) delivered a statement about the clash.
Many soldiers were killed, the Fırat News Agency (ANF) reported.
The statement said, “Intense clashes took place around the Şehit Cihat hill located nearby the Ertuş castle in Çukurca district”. (AS/TK)
