Vehicles carrying agricultural laborers have crashed in one day. Three agricultural laborers lost their lives in the accidents in Malatya, Adıyaman and Ankara, 47 others were injured in total.
According to the Laborer Health and Occupational Safety Assembly’s report of 2016, traffic and shuttle accidents come first among the causes of occupational homicides. 442 of the 1,730 workers lost their lives in traffic/shuttle accident in 2016. The figure was 506 in 2015.
Parliamentary Investigation Commission was formed to determine problems of seasonal agricultural laborers and propose solutions last year. The commission had completed its meeting on March 31, 2015 and submitted a report. In this report, laborers’ transportation problems were determined in detailed and solution offers were presented.
