The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the unemployment figures for February 2017.
According to this data, the number of unemployed people above 15 has reached 3,900,000 with an increase of 676,000 people compared with the same period of last year.
The unemployment rate marked 1.26% seeing an increase by 1.7% compared with last year and dropped by 0.4% compared with last month.
The unemployment rate climbed from 12.7% to 14.8% in women and from 10.1% to 11.7% in men.
Youth unemployment
The unemployment rate in population aged 15-24 became 23.3% with an increase of 4.7%.
This figure was determined as 12.9% with an increase of 1.8% in 15-64 age group.
The unemployment rate in youth population increase from 20.7% to 26.6% in women and from 17.4% to 21.5% in men on the annual basis. (YY/TK)
