26 international NGOs including the Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, International PEN have called on the government to rescind the Statutory Decrees violating human rights.
The petition urged the government to remove the precautions, which are not in accordance with Turkey’s human rights obligations in practice, within the scope of the State of Emergency (OHAL).
Stressing the right violations taking place during the first three months of the OHAL, international organizations were urged to take action.
“We also call for Turkey’s international partners, especially the European Union, the United States and all respective international human rights organization to strictly and clearly denounce the human rights violations taking place during the OHAL”. (YY/TK)
