Clashes have occurred during operations carried out in the mountainous area between the north of Lice, Kulp and Hani, districts of Diyarbakır province in southeastern and Bingöl province in eastern Turkey. Two soldiers have lost their lives.
26 year-old corporal major Zinnur Ezim's family in Osmaniye province and 34 year-old gendarmerie Lieutenant Fuat Oğuzcan's family in Antep have been informed about their son's deaths.
Diyarbakır Governorship in its statement announced that two different clashes occurred in two different locations in Lice district on March 19 during an operation and that six members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed.
Curfew in Lice, Hani
Dicle News Agency (dihaber) reported that curfew was declared in 10 additional villages in Lice and Hani districts of Diyarbakır after the clashes in which the two soldiers lost their lives.
According to the statement of the Governorship, curfew was declared in Birlik, Şenlik, Abalı, Çeper, Erginköy and Tuzla villages of Lice district and Kaledibi, Akçayurt, Topçular and Yukarı Turalı villages of Hani districts to be in effect as of March 19, 2017, 8 p.m. until further notice.
