The 16th International Filmmor Women's Film Festival On Wheels begins in Istanbul on March 10.
The festival is set to visit 8 cities including Trabzon, İzmir, Antalya, Bodrum, Mersin, Adana, and Diyarbakır until May 10.
The Festival Spring will continue with the Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival.
Collaborative product of women's organizations
Spanning 8 cities and 2 months, the 16th International Filmmor Women's Film Festival will once again hold all its screenings and events free of charge, thanks to the solidarity of Filmmor Women's Cooperative, İzmir Women's Solidarity Association, Bodrum Women's Solidarity Association, Antalya Women's Solidarity Association, Black Sea Women's Solidarity Association, İzmir Independent Women's Initiative, Women's Labor Collective Association, Middle Eastern Film Academy Association and Adana Women's Platform.
Preliminary program information
The film program will feature films under the headings, Women's Cinema; the Neighbors Need Each Other's Films selection; Women Exist; Our Bodies Are Ours: Sexual Harassment; Sexualities; and Collected Screening: Fiona Tan, besides an additional Special Screening for Children section.
Among the events are A Wallet of One's Own: New Generation Women Producers and It's Time: Sexual Harassment Panels in the Film Industry, Short Film Workshop, Feminist Memory: A Special Event with Kate Millett and Şirin Tekeli. In addition, the "Women Exist" forum will host meetings and talks with film professionals.
Dates
Within the scope of the 16th International Filmmor Women's Film Festival, women will be able to view 48 films in 8 cities, from hundreds of directors, in hundreds of languages spoken all around the world, as well as have the opportunity to share their words, paths, dreams, fairy tales, poems, stories, songs, hopes, resistance, experiences, and productions.
The festival program and details will be released in the press conference on February 27.
