Following Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) starting to bomb Afrin, five rockets from Syria hit Kilis, 11 hit Reyhanlı on January 21.
The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that the rockets were launched by the “PYD/PKK (Democratic Union Party/Kurdistan Workers’ Party)”, and Doğan News Agency reported that they were launched by the “PKK/PYD fronts”. According to Mezopotamya Agency citing Hawar News Agency (ANHA), YPG General Commander Sîpan Herno said, “Our units in no way targeted neither Kilis nor any other city”.
A Syrian person lost his or her life in the explosion in Reyhanlı. Seven people were injured in Kilis and 46 others in Reyhanlı.
Five rockets to Kilis
Four rockets fell in Kilis in the first hours of January 21.
Doğan News Agency reported that the rockets hit two houses and two workplaces in Ekrem Çetin neighborhood, and Anadolu Agency reported that the rockets hit four houses in Ekrem Çetin and Barış neighborhoods.

Governor Mehmet Tekinarslan said that seven people including two Syrians were injured and they are not in critical condition.
Kilis Governorship announced that some areas on the Syrian border were declared special security zones as of January 20, 2018 for 15 days.
11 rockets to Reyhanlı

According to a statement by the Hatay Governorship, 11 rockets hit Reyhanlı on January 21. Nine of them hit city center and two others hit wasteland.
