16 academics, mostly professors discharged from the Dicle University through the Statutory Decree No. 689 issued on April 29 have been taken into custody from their apartments and offices.
According to the report of Doğan News Agency (DHA), Anti-Terror units coming to the housings of Dicle University have searched the apartments and the offices of the academics.
Following the police search, the academics were taken into custody to give testimony. The discharged academics were signees of the peace declaration entitled "We will not be a party to this crime".
484 academics were discharged from public service through the Statutory Decree No 689. 66 of these academics were signees of the peace declaration. (HK/DG)
