Of 242 academics discharged by Statutory Decree No. 677 enacted as part of State of Emergency, 15 were academics who signed the declaration entitled “We Will Not be a Party to This Crime”.
By the Statutory Decree No.675 put into motion on October 29 24 signatory academics and by the Statutory Decree No.672 44 signatory academics were suspended from civil service.
The number of academics suspended from universities has risen to 3,850 and the number of suspended signatory academics has risen to 83.
Of the discharged academics, four were professor, four were assoc. prof., five were assist. prof. and two were research fellow.
Eight academics were discharged from Akdeniz University, one from Kastamonu University and six from Ondokuz Mayıs University.
Of the discharged signatory academics, Bülent Şık on his Twitter account posted “Peace, kindness and solidarity will prevail”. (BK/TK)
