By July 22, 122 out of 128 detained generals and admirals have been arrested, four of them have been released. Two of them are still in custody.
Commander of Diyarbakır 2nd Combined Air Operations Centre Major General Atilla Derendeli who was released, has been taken into custody again. Rear Admiral Macit Arslan has been released.
According to the statement made by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in May, there are 325 generals and admirals in military department, 32 in Gendarmerie General Commandership and one in Coast Guard Commandership in the TSK.
With the last arrests, 34 percent of the admirals and generals in the TSK are now under arrest. (BK/UA)
