The Turkish Cinema and Audiovisual Culture Foundation (TÜRSAK) has organised its tenth "International Istanbul Cinema History Meeting". This year's theme is "Overcoming Borders".
The film festival will take place from 14 to 20 December. At the opening on 15 December, Turkish actress Hümeyra Akbay and French Turkologist Prof. Dr. Irene Melikoff were awarded prizes.
Sub-themes at the festival are World Festivals, Prize-winning Films, Human Rights and Short Films from Masters. The latter section will show short films from Roman Polanski and Istvan Szabo.
