10,131 public officials have been dismissed in the Statutory Decree No. 675 issued on October 29.
In accordance with the decree No. 675, public officials who were affiliated with terrorist organizations or other structures, groups or organizations which are considerered to engage in activities against the "national security" of the state, have been dismissed without any additional procedure.
In the Statutory Decree No. 676, a new requirement for appointing new public officials has been introduced providing that a "Security investigation and/or an archive research" should be conducted about public service candidates.
In addition, the new regulation requires that "cooperating with or helping terrorist organizations, using public resources and means available to support these organizations as well as propagandizing for such organizations" will constitute actions which require dismissal from public service without the possibility of a re-appointment.
