Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members have remotely detonated a bomb they planted earlier on culvert as soldier were doing explosive scanning in Van’s Gürpınar district, killing one sergeant major and injuring two soldiers.
Security forces and ambulances were dispatched to the scene following the attack that occurred last evening (October 6).
The wounded soldiers were taken to Gürpınar State Hospital by helicopters, Doğan News Agency reported.
Fırat News Agency (ANF) reported that the explosion took place during the explosive scanning by soldiers near Yalınca neighborhood and one soldier was killed.
Aerial-supported operation was launched in the region. (AS/TK)
