A clash has occurred in Kayapınar district of the predominantly-Kurdish province of Diyarbakır in southeastern Turkey during a police operation carried out in a house where members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were reportedly staying.
The air-backed operation was carried out by teams of Provincial Security Directorate in a house located in Huzurevleri neighbourhood on Sıtkı Göral street of Kayapınar, Diyarbakır.
The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that a hand grenade was thrown from the house that killed one police officer and injured four others. Doğan News Agency has reported that one police officer lost his life and nine others have been injured.
The injured police officers have been brought to hospital for treatment. (EKN/DG)
